1. Who we are

DjibTuteur is a platform connecting families and teachers for home tutoring in Djibouti. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's protected.

2. Data we collect

• Parents: name, phone number, neighborhood, information related to the tutoring request (subject, school level).
• Teachers: name, phone, email, bio, rate, subjects/levels/neighborhoods taught, profile photo, CV, and diplomas.
• Reviews: rating and comment left by a parent after a match.
• Technical: no browsing data is sold or shared with advertising third parties.

3. Why we use it

This information is used solely to: connect families with a suitable teacher, verify the identity and qualifications of teachers before approving their profile, and enable direct contact by WhatsApp between the parties. We never sell your data to third parties.

4. Who can see your data

A teacher's name, subjects, rate, and average rating are public on the platform for search purposes. Sensitive documents (CV, diplomas) are only accessible to the DjibTuteur team for profile verification, via a time-limited link — they are never public. A parent's phone number is only shared with the teacher contacted for a given request.

5. Security

Passwords are encrypted (never stored in plain text), exchanges are protected by HTTPS, and database access is restricted by row-level security rules. Teachers' documents are stored in a private space, only accessible via temporary links generated on demand.

6. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting contact@djibtuteur.com. A teacher may also request deletion of their profile directly from their space, or via the DjibTuteur team.

7. Data retention

Data from a teacher profile or a parent request is kept as long as the account is active. If an account is deleted, personal data is erased within 30 days, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
